Emirates weather is classified as subtropical barren, with warm winters and sizzling arid summers. Because it straddles the Tropic of Cancer, the weather in Emirates is hot and humid alongside the coast and even hotter inland. Along the coastal regions the moisture level are at a high 85%, creating intolerable weather conditions during the summer months.
Emirates weather is at its hottest during the months of July an August, when temperatures reach averages of 29°C, soaring to a stifling 48 °C (occasionally mercury rises even higher) on the coastal plain. In mountainous regions such as Al Hajar al Gharbi due to their increased altitude temperatures are significantly much cooler. January is a fresher month with an average minimum of 13°C and an average maximum temperature of 24°C.
During summer, the otherwise warm weather in the Emirates is occasionally punctuated by thunderstorms, which thankfully are limited to a small area. Late summer invites a sultry southeastern wind known as sharqi which has the tendency to create violent sandstorms making the coastal district particularly unpleasant and causing reduced visibility.
Understandably, Emirates weather is also characterized by its sparse levels of precipitation. The little rainfall the Emirates enjoy occurs between December through to April, with February and March being the months with the most precipitation. Rainfall in the coastal regions descends in small torrential bursts predominantly in the summer months, occasionally resulting in floods in typically dry wadi beds. Average annual rainfall is between 100 to 150 mm but in several mountainous areas precipitation levels reach 350 mm.
Temperatures are pleasantly cooler during the months from November to April, making traveling to the Emirate enjoyable and weather in the Emirates pleasing.
